Freight Brokerage MC License:
A freight broker can be an individual or company that matches shippers with transportation services in order to transport goods. Freight brokers are responsible for matching authorized and reliable transportation carriers to the shippers and coordinating all the shipping needs for many companies. Such brokers must be licensed from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

A private motor carrier transports its own cargo, usually as a part of a business that produces, uses, sells and/or buys the cargo that is being hauled. A private motor carrier transports its own goods and is required to have a USDOT number but does not need operating authority (MC number).

TWIC Certification: The program provides a tamper resistant credential to maritime workers requiring escorted access to secure areas of port facilities, outer continental shelf facilities, and vessels regulated under the Maritime Transportation Security Act, or MTSA, and all U.S. Coast Guard credentialed merchant mariners.
